Petits Filous, the yogurt brand under the global giant Yoplait, is expanding into the plant-based dairy market for the first time.
It comes with the launch of a dairy-free yogurt made with almonds.
Petit Filous
The French brand is well-known for its children’s products boasting sources of both calcium and vitamin D. However until now it is yet to expand into the plant-based market.
Its latest launch is the Petit Filous Dairy Free range, which will be flavored with raspberry. Additionally, it is certified with the vegan trademark.
It debuted in Tesco stores across the UK last week.
Moreover, it will be available on Morrisons and Sainsbury’s shelves by September, according to The Grocer. It’s retailed at £2.65 for a pack of four 95g tubs.
Dairy-free demand
General Mills is a multinational which owns Yoplait, among Cheerios and Häagen-Dazs.
Head of Marketing Joanna Goodman told the news outlet: “In recent years we’ve seen an increase in families seeking dairy-free alternatives either due to intolerances or simply as a lifestyle choice.”
“With limited healthy snacking options available in this space, we wanted to ensure children who don’t eat dairy can still enjoy the benefits of our yogurts.”
Moreover, the new vegan yogurts offer ‘the same great taste’ customers expect from Petit Filous, Goodman added.
