Long John Silver’s, a US-based seafood giant, is adding plant-based items to its menu for the first time.
It’s proclaimed the country’s largest quick-service seafood restaurant with almost 700 locations.
Long John Silver’s
In teaming up with Good Catch, Long John Silver’s is to offer two of the brand’s latest products at its most popular sites.
They include the Plant-Based Breaded Fish-Free Fillet and Plant-Based Breaded Crab-Free Cake.
The products will feature on a Plant-Based Platter, including two fillets and two crab-free cakes served with two sides. Additionally, they can be add-ons to meals.
Good Catch’s products are made from a six-legume blend including chickpeas, lentils, and soy, fava, and navy beans. The brand claims they mimic the flakiness of seafood.
Growing plant-based seafood sector
Christine Mei is CEO of Gathered Foods, which makes Good Catch. In a statement, Mei said: “We’re excited to propel change in quick-service restaurants by teaming up with Long John Silver’s.
“With the plant-based seafood sector expected to grow twelve-fold in the next ten years to $1.3 billion, there’s room for dramatic growth.
“We’re proud to fuel the momentum by delivering the delicious taste, unmistakable texture, and comparable protein that consumers crave.”
Long John Silver’s is ‘proud’ to partner with the brand. Vice President of Marketing, Christoper Caudill, said: “We work with partners who share the vision of fishing smarter with less environmental impact. An aspect that we know is very important to Good Catch.”
Good Catch availability
However, the products are only available where stocks last.
In California, the offerings will be available in Bakersfield (3801 Ming Ave.), Sacramento (7228 Stockton Blvd), and Clovis (406 W Shaw Ave.).
Moreover, they are available at Newnan (52 Bullsboro Dr.), near Atlanta or the Albany (1805 N. Slappey Drive) location in Georgia.
