Planet Bake

Planet Bake provides healthy, low-carb, gluten-free donuts that are plant-based and free of artificial ingredients and added sugar. Our goal is to counteract alarming trends in diabetes rates with healthy products that are plant-based, cruelty-free, and environmentally friendly.

When did you launch the business?

January 2021

What led you to where you are today?

The pandemic shed a light on our daily lives, being at home, in lockdown, with no gyms, just grocery foods. That’s when I personally felt the need to eat healthier and avoid sugar completely. Many people have learned the same lesson during the pandemic and are looking for healthier alternatives when it comes to sweets and desserts. There are so many people who are affected by diabetes T2, and celiac disease and many are overweight. Why not let them enjoy desserts again without feeling guilty and rather have them plan a healthy dessert into their regular day than fall out of line?!

What do you wish you knew before embarking on your entrepreneurial journey? 

Resources. So many are available to an entrepreneur. When I first started, I didn’t know who to speak to. Until I found these great organizations and food communities that helped answer so many of my questions, especially being new to the food industry.

What is the most difficult decision you've had to make regarding your business so far? 

Outsourcing services and putting the faith into other people’s hands. It’s hard for a founder not to control everything, but eventually, we all must learn it. Nobody can do it all.

What can you help the VEGPRENEUR community with?

I am good with numbers and experienced in the production and manufacturing of products. Anyone with questions can reach out at any time.

How can the VEGPRENEUR community help you? 

I like to partner up with other like-minded brands and am always looking for the best plant-based, healthy, and healing ingredients to use in our desserts.

Fun fact about you: 

I spend most of my hours in a day, incl weekends, on the business. It is so much fun building something of your own while helping people eat better and make better food choices.

Anything else you would like to share?

Our vision is to make a difference in people’s health and educate them about gut health, diabetes T2, sugar consumption, and other diseases that come from ‘bad for you’ foods.
